Château Marconne, located in the charming town of Hesdin in northern France, has a rich and fascinating history that dates back to the 17th century. In 1894, Mr Paul Hypolite Willame had the château built for his 2nd son, Adolphe. The château has served as a residence for various aristocratic families over the centuries.

 

Throughout its history, Château Marconne has witnessed wars, political turmoil, and social changes. During the French Revolution, the château was seized by the government and served as a military barracks. During the war of 1914/18, English troops were stationed in Marconne, and officers would have stayed at the castle. During the 1939/45 war, German officers stayed at the castle, during the bombardments, they took refuge in shelters dug into the mound in front of the castle.

 

In the 19th century, it was restored to its former glory and transformed it into a luxurious residence.
